At Laurel’s graduation party, I explain to Trish the benefits of being kidnapped by me.
a) She would get her own bed with a television in the den.
b) The plum tree is in bloom. Please, I said, Just consider the fresh fruit.
c) Since I live close to the beach, we could bike there often.
d) In the evenings, there are oh-so-many coffee shops to explore and do our writing.
e) Also, I am excellent company!
I know this amused the other guests a lot, but I was very sincere. However, Trish didn’t bend to temptation even though she did pretend to be greatly persuaded.
Alas! How much more palatable can one make a kidnapping?

Author’s Note: The above was just a scribble from my journals in which I captured my argument. Sometimes you just got to be silly especially when with writer friends!
I wrote a BOOK about poetry, friendships and Japan! You can read an excerpt here. You can buy it here.
