"Comets" by Richard Brautigan There are comets that flash through our mouths wearing the grace of oceans and galaxies. God knows, we try to do the best we can. There are comets connected to chemicals that telescope down our tongues to burn out against the air. I know we do. There are comets that laugh at us from behind our teeth wearing the clothes of fish and birds. We try. This poem is from THE PILL VERSUS THE SPRINGHILL MINE DISASTER. Author’s Note: I realized much MUCH later that you should all watch this if you liked my Why I Read Poetry series here - Part 1, Part 2, The End.
I long long ago accepted that I take a LOOOONG time to make things. This is the first in a series of videos and the only one currently completed. Hope you enjoyed it!
