I saved a bumblebee from certain death. When I went swimming today, I saw the creature struggling to stay afloat while I clung to the wall of the deep end. I tried to swish it out of the pool. The poor thing! To find itself in danger of drowning then to face tidal waves. But I got it out, and I could just *see* how its little lungs coughed out water to replace it with air. Then later that night it just seemed funny that as I walked so many skittery and flying bugs kept bouncing off my bare legs. I was like, Guys, don’t you know I’m a hero? Where IS the gratitude?
