Last week in Sarajevo, I had a dream I want to remember. The character Meg from Disney’s Hercules went to the underworld to save our hero like Orpheus did for Eurydice. In the underworld, the whirlpool of souls was dry, and then a bunch of things happened that I can’t recall. But Meg cried, and Hades was triumphant as he gathered up her sorrow. But when Hades combined her tears with those of her lover, it didn’t multiply their sadness. Instead, it multiplied their love. The waters rushed forth and expanded, and Meg and her guy were lifted up—able to swim out of death and into life.
